Andrea Bruno I moved to Buffalo from New York City in 2011. In looking for a way to stay in touch with my Colombian ethnicity, I found Colombia WNY and also Amor and Heritage. What a joy it was to find people who are so passionate about the Colombian culture. Dancing brings me a lot of joy and I love to share that experience with others. I dance to represent my heritage and make my mother proud.

MarCe Zerrate, MBA.
Executive Director - Founder
Born in Cali, Colombia, MarCe is a veteran and successful event planner and project manager. She has worked in marketing and public relations for over ten years in a variety of capacities. MarCe has significant experience in managing special events, fundraising events, national conferences, receptions, educational and leadership programs, in addition to other special projects and events; additionally, MarCe has been involved in and celebrated the Hispanic Heritage through the arts from her early childhood. She began Folkloric dancing and acting in Cali, Colombia and continued her artistic career when she moved to the United States in 1999, where she professionally performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, taught folkloric, Hispanic- Latino dances at various non-for-profits and schools, founded and is the executive and artistic director of her Folkloric, Traditional, Hispanic dance Company Amor and Heritage Inc. in Buffalo, NY. She is a 40 under 40 Latino Rising Star by the Hispanic Coalition of NY State, received: Certificate of merit by Assemblyman Peter D. Lopez. Certificate of Recognition of valuable contribution to arts and culture by the Art Services initiative.
Awarded individual artist grants from ASI, grants, Finalist as Artist of the year in WNY 2014, Selected for the Making a Difference program for the WNED and WBFO and collaborations with Canalside, the Puerto Rican and Hispanic Day Parade, The African American Cultural Center, the Hispanic Heritage Council of WNY and The Buffalo History Museum.
Amor and Heritage started with 3 dancers in 2012 having fun, then, the necessity to exist and share and celebrate all cultures and traditions grew! in 2013 the paperwork started applying for grants and for our status, Amor and Heritage Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization, we have received many recognitions in the arts and for celebrating diversity, the joy continues and I have not looked back. This has been a dream come true, and amazing experience, great rewards, and all thanks to hard work and the amazing support of our family. friends and wonderful community!

Dance instructor, Choreographer and Dancer (United States)
Mackenzie is a graduate of SUNY Fredonia's BFA dance program. During her pre-college years she studied primarily under Kerry Ring and Lisa Taylor in Buffalo, NY. In 2006 and 2007, Mackenzie was selected to attend the NYSSSA School of Dance, where she studied intensively under many well-known and up-and-coming dancers and choreographers, most notably Carolyn Adams (formerly of Paul Taylor Dance Company) and Robert Battle (artistic director of Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre). She currently trains in belly dance under her mentor and mother, Faaria of
Oasis Dance Center, and she can be seen performing at venues all around WNY. Kenzie is the first place Belly Dancer winner in the United states and Second Place Belly Dance winner in the World's Belly dance competitions.
Dancer- Singer (Puerto Rico)
María-Rosario Cala was born and raised in the Enchanted Island of Puerto Rico. She is the proud daughter of Spaniards descendent and of Taíno Indians descendent, natives of the island of Puerto Rico. María has earned a B.S. in Computer Science, an Ed. M. in Elementary Education, and an Ed. M. in School Administration. Currently, she is an Assistant Principal at D’Youville-Porter Campus School #3 in the Buffalo District, where she proudly serves children from many Hispanic origins. She enjoys producing and directing musical performances were she and her students sing and dance music of Latin heritage and tradition. Among many of Maria’s artistic performances through her life, most recently she performed at Kleinhans Music Hall where she was the Mistress of Ceremony for the Hispanic Heritage Council of WNY main event and she also interpreted the song “Mi tierra” from Gloria Estefan. It is María’s mission to bring awareness to the Hispanic children of Western New York, about traditions and history that make their ethnicity a future of pride and optimism for our future leaders.
I have been dancing with Amor & Heritage Dance Company for the past 4 years. Please know that I have enjoyed the time dancing, spending time together and bonding as we shared our roots with the community in the City of Buffalo. I can only hope that we continue to dance with Amor & Heritage this coming year, 2017.
I can't thank you enough for the opportunity and the privilege to participate with Amor and Heritage. I am most proud of showing the City of Buffalo our traditional music, our culture and our beautiful dresses filled with the brightest of colors for everyone to see and enjoy.I am very happy to say that the City of Buffalo has warmly embraced us with open arms and welcomed our dancing because of you, MarCe. Carlos has been dancing since he was young and loves celebrating his Puerto Rican Culture; He has been performing all around Buffalo, NY since he arrived to the city over 6 years ago. His passion is in performing Plena and Salsa.

Ms. Natasha Perkins, began her dance journey taking master classes and workshops with Garth Fagan, The Urban Bush Women and Forces of Nature Dance Company. Ms. Perkins began her professional dance career with Janet Reed and Dancers in Buffalo NY. As a student at Buffalo State College, Natasha has performed for the BSC Theater. During that time, she traveled and represented Buffalo State in a Dance College Exchange at Grambling State University. There Ms. Perkins received a full scholarship for the American Dance Festival. At ADF Ms. Perkins performed with noted Choreographer Ronald K. Brown and trained with Master Teacher Cornelius Carter. Ms. Perkins appeared in the Jazz World Dance Congress and has regularly performed in the Buffalo City Ballet’s Annual Black History Month concerts.

Mario is a candidate for the M.S. in Creativity and Creative Leadership at the International Center for Studies in Creativity at Buffalo State, Buffalo NY. He is also a member of the faculty at the Business Administration Department at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia. He holds a Business Administration bachelor degree at the same university. Mario has experience in the academia as a professor and as a consultant. Mario is a certified facilitator in the Lego Serious Play method.
José Pablo Alcazar, PHD

Pablo is founder and owner of JPA Innovation + Strategy, a consultancy firm dedicated to help individuals and organizations to improve and develop their creativity and innovation skills, and to trained teams in cultural awareness. Pablo is certified as a Four Sight thinking profile trainer and facilitator. He designs and delivers workshops in creativity, innovation, and cultural awareness for the public sector, investors, designers, educators, and the business community.
Pablo owns a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a M. Eng. in Construction Management from the University of the Americas Puebla, México (UDLAP); a M.S. in Creativity and Innovation from SUNY-Buffalo State, and a PhD in Strategic Planning and Technology Management from the Popular Autonomous University of the State of Puebla, México (UPAEP).
Abbey Lorena Dance Instructor (Summer Diversity Dance Class) (Colombia)
Abbey is a 23 year old from Buffalo, NY originally from Colombia, South America. She is a graduate of the College at Brockport with degrees in Dance and Arts for Children. She has performed in numerous collegiate dance shows as well as the Somatics and Dance Conference in Geneva, NY. She hopes that sharing her knowledge and love for Hip Hop and Modern dance with the kids will contribute to this wonderful summer camp.
